Commercial Pilot License (CPL) training

A Commercial Pilot License (CPL) is a certificate that allows the holder to become a commercial pilot, with rights to receive payment for flying. CPL training requires hundreds of hours of flight instruction and is typically completed over 12–18 months depending on individual aptitude.

Those wishing to obtain their CPL must complete both ground school and flight training at an authorized Flight Training Unit (FTU). All course content will vary slightly between schools but generally covers the same topics: airspace navigation, communication protocols, weather theory, navigation charts, the principles of aircraft performance, human factors in aviation operations and so on. It may include additional topics such as Aviation Law or Multi-Engine Operation.
